When I kept stumbling across this man's photo in my collection, it reminded me of the story of the drunken man from Betty Eadie's book "Embraced by the Light." Betty, who had died and then came back from a near-death experience, told this truly inspiring story about her spirit guides taking her to see this homeless man who was lying in an alley. She didn't understand why she should have to see that sight. What possible lesson was there for her to learn?
As her story continued, she went on to say that her guides became very excited by her puzzlement, and told her that they couldn't wait to reveal to her who this poor homeless man really was. And at that point, they revealed to Betty, the homeless bum's inner spirit. When she saw this transformation, she understood that this was truly a magnificant man who was full of light and love. That knowledge gave her pause to consider what she was learning. Why was he spending his life in such a seemingly useless way? To add to her confusion, the guides went on to say that this beautiful man was greatly admired in heaven.
Then her guides could wait no longer, and they revealed his story and purpose. They told her that this beautiful man's only reason for being here, was to serve as a constant reminder to a spirit friend of his - a prominent lawyer who worked down the block and who passed by him on his way to and from his office. This great spiritual being was simply here to remind his friend to do more for those who needed his legal skills.
So every day, whenever the attorney passed, he was drawn to look at the man, as if he somehow recognized him - as if he could somehow see the man inside of the man.
So this seemingly down-trodden and drunken bum turned out to be his greatest spiritual friend and his teacher in this life. He was so high on the spiritual scale, that he had sacrificed his life on earth for the benefit of his friend.
The memory of that simple story has always had a profound affect on me. I could never look at a poor or down-trodded soul in the same way after reading that story.
As I pass these homeless angels in the street, or look into the eyes of the little ones in the orphanages, I now wonder who will benefit from their teachings. Who will benefit from this tremendous sacrifice? And of course, I have come to realize that surely some of these "chance meetings" were meant for me. To remind me that I must now do something. Perhaps it will turn out to be the building of this website. Or perhaps it will be the project that removes the last doubt from all the skeptics. Who knows?
But how wonderful a feeling it is to know that there are truly "angels" that walk amongst us here on earth.
Join me in a prayer for all the great spirits that are our teachers in this life. May we all see the "angel" inside the people we encounter on the streets. May we be filled with love when we see them, and may we see all people in this different light. Pray with me that we learn to see this love in all who surround us, whether they be rich or homeless, athletes or handicapped children, for they are the angels that are our teachers and guides in this lifetime. God bless all for their sacrifice...
My mom saw a boy with his father in a shop. The father hit his son forcefully so that the child almost fell on the floor. The man told him : "if you are going to be bad, i will tie you to the tree AGAIN!". Lord I pray now that whom ever is a stranger in need and if you put me in their path please allow the Holy Spirit to remind me that I could have allowed myself to become a street person, a prostitute, a thief, or a bully, an addict, or someone that just did not care for The Lord, myself or others. Please help me remember that I have been in a homeless situation and know first hand what it feels like to be hungry, not have a place to sleep, shower or be at peace. I pray for all those who are in this situation and pray the your grace and mercy be upon them at all times, because they are my brothers and sisters in the Lord, if I can help one of my brothers I am helping myself. "Cause I know you will bless me in turn. All will be to the Glory of your name. May the Lord bless them and keep them and May the Lord shine his face upon them all the days of their lives.

Hello All;
I am asking for volunteers to pray for the Kairos #21 team and participants. Kairos is a prison ministry much like Cursillo. We have a team of people from many faiths going into the prison. We are going to be at Tucker prison on Thursday thru Sunday October 26-29. I have a list of all the half hours needed and will fill in any time slots you would like. Prayer times start at 4:00 PM on Thursday and go through 9:00 PM on Sunday so we will have all your prayers while we travel home. Please consider praying for a scheluled time on all the days so we can have all the time covered.

A FEW YEARS AGO, I WAS WORKING 2 JOBS. I CAME HOME ON A BREAK FROM 1 OF MY JOBS, AND MY MOM WAS NEXT DOOR YELLING “JOHNNY, YOUR DAD NEEDS YOU!” I SAID I HAD TO HURRY, BUT I WENT OVER TO SEE HIM. HE WAS VERY SERIOUS. HE SAID “KATE'S’ GONE. I SAID, SO SHE WAS TIRED OF ALL THIS NONSENSE? HE SAID NO, SHE WAS DEAD!
SHE WAS A PRETTY GIRL, WHO I SPOKE TO A LOT, AND WAS A TRUE FRIEND.
WHEN I CAME INTO MY HOUSE THERE WERE 4 MESSAGES ON MY TELEPHONE…ALL OF THEM FROM KATE, BEGGING ME TO HELP HER, AS SHE KILLED HERSELF BECAUSE OF HER DEPRESSION AND A BAD DIVORCE! THIS GUILT WILL NOT LEAVE ME! I STILL HAVE THE TAPE, AND “SEE HER”
A YEAR AFTER, A DEAR FRIEND AROUND 75 YEARS OLD PASSED AWAY, AND ASKED ME TO HELP HIS SON, WHO WAS A DRUG ADDICT. I DROVE HIM TO PLACES AND HOSPITALS ALL OVER THE AREA.
HE CAME OVER ONE NIGHT AND I TOLD HIM HOW GOOD HE LOOKED. I REMEMBER HE SAID I WAS GETTING BACK TO MY “OLD SELF” WHEN I USED TO ALWAYS JOKE AROUND AND THINGS LIKE THAT…I WAS JUST GETTING OVER A FRAUDULENT DIVORCE ABOUT A GREEN CARD.
ANY WAY HE LEFT MY HOME AND BLEW HIS BRAINS OUT!
OK NOW TODAY.
IN JULY I MET A YOUNG 19 YEAR OLD GIRL NAMED“TARA” WHO SAID SHE WAS A DRUG ADDICT, HAD NO PARENTS, AND WANTED HELP…A FRIEND, NOT SOMEONE TO USE HER.
I HAVE A LARGE HOME, SO I GAVE HER A ROOM, AND WE AGREED ON RULES, BASICALLY, NO DRUGS, AND WE WOULD WORK TOGETHER ON GETTING HER INTO DRUG REHABILITATION.
I TOOK HER TO HOSPITALS AND REHABS, BUT SHE WOULD LEAVE.
SHE WAS IN JAIL FOR 5 WEEKS, BUT I SIGNED FOR HER TO GIVE HER 1 MORE CHANCE AT LIFE. I GOT HER SOME NEW CLOTHS AND A MANICURE AND TOLD HER THIS IS WHAT REAL LIFE SHOULD BE ABOUT, NOT DRUGS! I TOLD HER I COULD GET HER A JOB, AND SOMEDAY SHE WOULD FIND SOMEONE HER OWN AGE SHE WOULD LOVE. AND MAY BE SOME DAY BE REUNITED WITH HER 2 YEAR OLD SON.
TARA DISAPPEARED BUT SHOWED UP THE OTHER DAY ASKING FOR ANOTHER CHANCE. SHE ASKED ME TO FORGET ALL THE BAD THINGS, AND TRY AGAIN, BECAUSE I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO RESPECTED HER, HELPED HER, AND ONLY WANTED HER TO RECOVER.
I TOOK HER TO THE CEMETERY AND SHOWED HER HOW TO PRAY THE ROSARY.
WE SPENT A FEW HOURS TOGETHER AND SHE AGAIN BAGGED TO START OVER, AND TO FORGET THE THINGS SHE HAD DONE.
I TOLD HER ABOUT MY FRIENDS KILLING THEM SELVES, AND I SAID “TARA, EVEN THOUGH YOU DO NOT USE THE SAME WORDS AS MY FRIENDS WHO DIED BEFORE, I KNOW, YOU KNOW YOU WILL BE DEAD SOON!
LOOK AT THE PHOTOS I AM SENDING !
SHE IS BROKEN! HER SPIRIT IS GONE!
I EVEN TOOK PHOTOS OF HER AND HER STORY TO MY LOCAL PRIEST AND TOLD HIM I WOULD TRADE MY LIFE TO GOD, RIGHT HERE AND NOW TO LET HER BE CURED FROM ADDICTION, AND SOMEDAY BE ABLE TO SEE HER BABY AGAIN.
NOW SHE AGAIN IS HIDING, DOING TERRIBLE THINGS.
BUT IT IS NOT HER, IT IS THE DRUGS, AND PEOPLE WHO USE HER! I HAVE SEEN HER SOBER, AND HER HEART AND SELF WORTH ARE GONE !
SO I ASK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART TO PRAY FOR HER!

My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer, she has I colapsed lung now and is undergoing kemothearapy.My father was diagnosised with accute pancreitis and is very sick in the hospital. He is having blood pressure problems and is dislusional.

I am requesting that you all pray with me for these 5 people, who, even though I do not know them personally, their stories have touched me just the same:
1)Please pray for a woman in Paris, KY, whose son, weeks before his 7th birthday, was sodomized and killed and left in a barn in her hometown. Police are still investigating. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
2)Please also pray for a young lady whose friend took his life a few weeks ago; he was only 19. We need to let the young people know that we are here for them, no matter how great their personal tragedies or burdens are, and if we are not able to help them, then God will be.
3)Please pray for my friend:she is 18 yrs. old, and just found out that she has cervical cancer, and she is pregnant as well. Please keep her in your thoughts as she undergoes surgery and we pray together that she may be blessed to bring another life in this world.
4)Please pray for a lady whose brother is in the ministry, yet the people around are not what they seem, they are trying to bring him down...please pray that God may use this man's sister to show him who is real and who is not in his church.
5)Please pray for a work from home mom that is undergoing some great financial and emotional stress right now.
6)Please also pray for a woman whose mother-in-law is battling thyroid cancer
7)Please pray for another lady whose cousin just had a baby, and the baby's umbilical cord was cut and the baby started having complications then; now the baby has been in a drug-induced coma for weeks since its birth; please pray for the family and mother of this child.

Subject: Strehlow Family & Friends in Hettinger, North Dakota
From time to time we all receive e-mails requesting prayer for someone we don't know. I am asking for your prayer support now for a family that I don't personally know but my heart goes out to them after seeing an obituary (below) from the funeral home that served our family.
The Strehlow family lost a 12-year old son in a car accident after the car caught fire about 10 years ago. A second son that survived that accident has now been killed, with his sister in critical condition. The son's funeral is pending because of the daughter's condition.
If you just lost a second son and your daughter's life was now hanging in the balance, I believe you would appreciate the prayers of anyone and everyone, whether you knew them or not. And the most important thing is that WE ARE ALL GOD'S CHILDREN AND GOD KNOWS THE FAMILY. So as a favor to me, please pray that God will surround this grieving family with his angels of comfort, protection and healing and for the welfare of the daughter.

Ben Strehlow, 24, of Hettinger, ND died due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision near Richardton, ND on October 6, 2007. His younger sister, A.J. Strehlow was also involved in the accident and is in critical condition in Bismarck. Due to the fact that the family is tending to A.J. and her recovery at this time, funeral services for Ben will remain pending until further notice. Please keep the Strehlow's in your thoughts and prayers at this time.
I met Kathy Ann today who has been diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas. She has outlived their predictions by 100% already. Please agree with me for Kathy's total healing from cancer of the pancreas. Thank you, Deborah

Please pray for a friend of one of my friends from work. She is a neighbor and a life long friend of hers. She lived alone w/her mother until she passed a few years ago and since then had become a little reclusive. My friend got her to stay at her house under a pretense of needing help during the day when she found out she had no heat or electricity. (she would not admit it or was in denial about such things) Now she is found to have cancer and renal failure. My friend is handling all of her financial and household affairs and has done everything for her now that she is out of the hospital and in a 2nd nursing home.
I pray that something can be done for her, that she has no pain, doesn't know what is going on, that she is peaceful. No one's life should be like this. I can't fit her whole story here nor do I wish to disrespect her by telling everyone everything I already know.
Also pray that her pets are happy where my friend has placed them.
Please pray for a girl named Allison. She is on drugs, is a porn stripper , a pimp for the police. She is caught up in a system, where the police give her drugs to get her to narc on people they promise her that she won't have to go to jail. She has 2 Children They stay in an unhealthly envirment. She is a smart girl has a good education, but the sysstem is using and ab using her. She has broke her family, giving money to the system and lawyers to keep her out of jail. It is so sad. She cannot tell the truth. Her own 8 year old knows she lies. Please pray The Lord will touch her heart and life before she dies from all the troubles she gets in.
Ladies and gentlemen, I know most of you probably are already doing this, but sometimes we all get caught up in our own troubles; please do not forget to pray for these people who have had tornados affect them recently; in Picher, OK; in GA; and in NC and VA...Please keep these people in your prayers, it is not a game anymore people; a natural disaster can hit anybody...at anytime..doesn't matter where...and especially pray for those people in Myanmar who were hit by the cyclone and are STILL counting up bodies...i will be feverishly praying for these people as well. oNce again, thank you all, and God Bless.
Lord, I lift up my surgeon and his wife. I feel that they are seeking truth and spiritual fulfillment. I ask for your Spirit to have an encounter with them that they can't deny that You are real...that they NEED you...that they want to live their lives with you in charge. I knew a bully in high school; although he is in his late 50's now he probaly is still like that, unless something radical happened to chnge him. A couple of years afer graduation a former high school buddy told me, "Jim would be like that all of his life" Pray for the salvation of Jim and of other bullies young and old. Also pray that Jim and other bullies change their ways.
